Family Deer Hunting Day

This event is being hosted by Pheasant Forever, the National Deer Association, Raised at Full Draw, and Pass It On - Outdoor Mentors, Inc. in collaboration with OHEC and the Wisconsin DNR. This event is open to all new hunters, families, and anyone who wants to learn more about deer hunting. 

SCHEDULE + DETAILS: August 30, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM 

LOCATION: Devil's Lake State Park, exact meeting location to be sent out closer to the event date. 

TIME: Arrive at 12:00 PM

WHAT TO EXPECT:  

Learn the basics of everything you need to know to successfully deer hunt this fall! Groups will rotate to different stations during the event to participate in every activity. 

Station Examples:

Archery Examples and Practice: Shoot crossbows, compound and traditional bows

Learn how to set up a tree stand and see other hunting platform options.

See what deer sign and habitat look like and how to find good deer hunting areas.

Learn how to cook deer properly and try what is made!

Deer Processing Example: We will also have a deer processing demonstration. Learn how to completely process your own deer!

DON'T FORGET

• Appropriate clothing to be able to stand and be active all day. 
• A chair for events where you are stationary. 
• Dress According to Weather.
• Snacks and Drinks. 
• Be Safe & Have Fun!
• An adult must be present with all youth.
